i just painted mine for my UPA-2 to match my XPA...very simple DIY project...flat black and primer spray paint gets the job done perfectly, close match to the originals....finding the matching black screws is the tough part, hopefully emo will come to the rescue

interested but ascubie seems to found the best solution... 10minutes in the garage and viola custom application...
I'm thinking Hi-vis orange...

The more and more i think about it, i really want to go all black Emotiva gear. It looks pretty solid. I hope these are still being sold.
But then again my RPA-1 kinda hurts that decision for me lol. I dunno.

Now a question, do you mean you spray painted with a "Flat Black Primer" spray paint. If so which brand spray paint from what store??? I plan on going this route, so any help will be appreciated.!!!

I looked in Accessories today and did not find any black trims listed. :-( I could use a pair for my IPS-1.
Dann, can we expect these to be offered soon again? if so, will they come with black screws too?

I used 2 lite coats of spray can primer(white in color, im sure theres also black, but i had white on hand) followed by 3 lite coats of flat black from a spray can I got really good results and unless examined very very closely you would not be able to notice the difference between the orignal black EMO pieces that i also own and the black painted ones I will take side by side pics when i get home. I dont remember the brand of spray cans off-hand but will update when i take pics

Dann, can we expect these to be offered soon again? if so, will they come with black screws too? They never had any for the IPS-1 to begin with. They said they would if the demand was there, but i guess it wasnt... P.S.- they came with black screws

its real simple, just remember to do very lite spray strokes and dont spray on one specific spot for to long
i did the silver screws today, i made a simple "jig" where i screwed the screws into so they would be upright while spraying, even those came out well
good luck

It's a pretty simple process and anyone can do it. 1 piece of advice, if you want to keep the look of the brushed aluminum but black, just spray the trim black directly on the pieces without any primer. it looks good either way. a also a hint: when you at the store and buying the paint, look for a tack rag, wipe the rag over the piece before you paint to get rid of any dust that might be on the piece Here is what I used for mine : www.autobodytoolmart.com/p-15327-19028.aspx?s_kwcid=sem%20trim%20paint|3034635185&gclid=CMmt8p-nxJgCFQIwxwod_ya6zgIt will stick to anything!

Thanks guys for the tips. I am going to try this.
Acsubie, would you recommend the krylon ultra flat black or just the black (I know you used the "non" ultra, but would you have rather used the ultra?)
N8DOGG: Can you post pics? It would help compare the finish you got with your product with the one that Acsubie got.
Thanks a bunch again guys. I have a lot of Emo gear with more on the way. Few pairs of black trim pieces would have easily cost close to $100. This is a very cheap alternative.

I finally spray painted mine, both LMC-1 & XPA-5, with the Krylon "Satin Black". I'm very pleased with the outcome!!! Just remember to not spray too close and lightly use a back and forth motion being careful not to stay in one spot to long.
