I finally spray painted mine, both LMC-1 & XPA-5, with the Krylon "Satin Black". I'm very pleased with the outcome!!! Just remember to not spray too close and lightly use a back and forth motion being careful not to stay in one spot to long. Pics please? ;D Recently sent my digital Canon camera off for warranty repair, will get pictures up when I get it back.

That looks very nice. Perhaps I'll paint my IPS' side strips this weekend. Did you paint the screws too or did you find black screws from somewhere?

How many coats of Krylon did you use? And how far away was the can from the trim pieces?

I put on 3 coats at about 10 inches away. It was very easy. I will be doing this on all the Emotiva gear I get in the future. I love the all black look.

I definitely like the look with the silver screws. Dann, will these be available for the LMC-1 in the future??? I think so, yes. Lonnie had said he thought so, I mean. The UMC-1 will have the same side pieces as the LMC-1 right? If so, I really hope that you can get the metal trim pieces done for them. I don't want to have to break out the spray paint if I can avoid it. The other Doug

The deal with the trim is it doesn't get made to order, we just have to separate some of it as 'black' when it gets made.

I will definitely be switching to black trim pieces for my XPA-5 and XMC-1 (only a gleam in my eyes at this time) when they become available. One of my friends is a union painter so I will not cross crafts and paint my own. As for the screws, I usually wait for a decision on a screw until the last minute when the right mood hits me.
However, I do appreciate all the posts about the black trim pieces. But no one has answered the question that is utmost on my mind.
HOW DO THEY SOUND?
Do you hear an sound improvement (subtle or significant) with the black trim pieces? Is there any increase in the width of the soundstage or the imaging? What about definition? Please don't hold back this information and make me wait until Robert Hartley publishes his review.
Please, somebody!

I'd like the black trim pieces now since everything else I have is black but when I get the UMC-1 it might look really good the way it is.
Its a good day when really this is the biggest concern I have!!! Off work today, blizzard, so a good day to find ways to spend money when I'm not making any...
