It's a tough one man! You have to try first the UMC-1 to see if it fits your needs! {Or wait for the XMC-1} I'd say it's between Option #2 & #3. * Another option is the Marantz AV7005 pre/pro. ** And another one is a receiver with Audyssey MultEQ XT or XT32 used as a pre/pro.

Bonjour Bob,
I have the UMC. I've been meaning to get a good room correction software. Maybe I'll ask for another mic from Emo and try the Emo-q with the recent firmware upgrade.
Tu as raison - its Emo-q vs. audyssey vs. Anthem ARC.
Would also need to check how stable the Anthem AVR with a 4 ohm ERM 6.3 center.

I've had the UMC for about a year now and it does many things very well. That being said, if I had to do things over, I would go with one of the Anthem offerings. The Anthem ARC is excellent. I use it in my 2 channel rig. It's easy to use and does everything right.

Salut Ottaone, With your UMC-1 you can also get a better mic like this one -> Behringer ECM8000 Mic{In Canada it is about $60 plus an additional $60 for the Phantom power; when you purchase both.} And use this free program -> REW__________________________ Emo-Q, Audyssey, ARC, TRINNOV, MCACC, YPAO, JBL Synthesis, etc.; no matter how you cut it, it is YOU and YOU only with the right tools and room treatments in your OWN room, that can fine-tune to your Reference & Preference listening taste! __________________________ Here's a Canadian review on the Anthem MRX 500 receiver -> Anthem MRX 500 AV Receiver Review __________________________ * Ton Francais est excellent; ca fait toujours plaisir de le lire. Mes plus grandes Salutations, Robert
