I live in Washington State. I can live without it for a while but was wondering how long it takes to get my XDA reprogrammed with the correct volume control.
I don't have to pay for shipping on this situation do I as this is an error on Emotiva's part?
Like my XDA, like my ERC, and probably interested in the XSP but kinda miffed at the volume control situation as my speakers are almost built and likely will be very loud at the .5 setting as they are pretty efficient.

My best suggestion would be to call Emotiva and see what they say. To be quite honest, no one here is really qualified to speak for Emotiva, so any answers you may receive would be purely speculation. Having said that, I will add that Emotiva has some of the best customer service I have ever encountered and I am sure they will get you taken care of quickly, and with minimal hassle.

rizzo,
Emotiva is usually very fast in handling repair of products sent to them. When I sent my XDA-1 in to have the volume re-flashed to logarithmic, I FedEx'ed it on a Monday and had it back on Friday morning of the same week. I live about 500 miles from Franklin, TN and it typically takes two days to receive shipments from Emotiva... which means that they changed the Volume stepping the same day they received my XDA-1 and shipped it back to me that same day... Great Service.
How quickly you will get your unit back depends on where you live and how big a back log of repairs they have to take care of... assuming they don't need to order parts not in stock. So far, any item I have returned for service, during the past three years, has been returned in under a week. Based on other Lounge members' posts, this is fairly typical.

You will most likely have to pay for shipping to Emotiva. They will probably cover shipping back. You will need to ask them about that. This is not an "error" on Emotiva's part. Some folks had no issues in their setups with the original implementation of the volume control, others did not. If you use a receiver, or separate preamp you will more than likely be fine. The volume issue surfaced when connecting directly to an amp. Emotiva was kind enough to offer the option to return the unit to be reflashed and I believe this is an open-ended offer.
