So I just came back from spring break, and the trigger input on my XDA-1 is no longer working correctly. I am triggering from the ET-3 (connected to a switched outlet on my VSX-1017). When the ET-3 has no power, the XDA-1 continually switches on and off, but when it does have power it stays on as it should. I tested the cables to make sure they weren't the problem, and they worked fine for triggering between the XDA-1 and the XPA-2. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions before calling Emo on Monday?

Could it be the ET-3 which is still retaining some power (even in off position), such that it manages to trigger the XDA-1?
I'd switch off the ET-3, pull the power cord out and wait 5 mins and then retry. If problem persists, call Emo.

I'd also try testing the voltage of the trigger cable. Wait until you catch the XDA switching, then pull the cable and test the voltage between the tip and sleeve with a multimeter. 12v is what it should be for on, 0 for off.
This will let you know whether the XDA is being goofy, or the ET-3. Also, have you tried the XDA on different ET-3 outputs? And different gear too?

I had tried on different ET-3 outputs, but don't have any other gear with a trigger out. I could haul in another receiver to try to rule out the VSX-1017 switched outlet. I've got the ET-3 unplugged now and will see in a few minutes if that helped.

Well I messed around with different things and found where it goes wrong, but I cannot determine why. With the XPA-2 off, the trigger works 100% correct. However, when I have the XPA-2 on is when it goes haywire. I unplugged the trigger to the XPA-2 and it still wasn't working correctly. I then unplugged my XLR cables from the XDA-1 to the XPA-2 and, voila, it works. I messed around with the cables to try to see if it is one of the cables or one of the inputs/outputs, but no matter what it was causing the problem. Any ideas on why the cables might be causing this? Suggestions?
