The owner of this USP-1 posted on ebay says the preamp is 2 months old. The silk screening on the remote looks a little worn (the "L" and "U" in VOLUME look the most worn). Since this is cosmetic I am guessing the warranty won't cover this. Two months sounds quick, I wonder what it will look like after a year or two. Maybe this remote has been used in a harsh environment. How does the silk screening on remote your look?

My UMC and ERC remotes are a little worn like that too. But I didn't even notice it until you posted this thread lol.
Totally off topic here, but I don't want to start a new thread about it... but my volume down button on my UMC remote isn't clicking anymore, and I love it! Now I need to figure out how to make all the other buttons quiet. Just saying...

That click is mildly annoying To me, it makes the remote feel cheap.

That looks like the USP metal remote which I believe has only been out a short time, anyone know when they started sending those out?

I just looked at my UMC-1 remote. It has some areas that look worn and it was only used to program a few keys to my Harmony. It looks like it just didn't get imprinted well.

If the manufacturer is going to go to the trouble of milling an aluminum case, it would have been nice to mill the labels at the same time. It would take maybe 40 seconds of milling time to engrave that text instead of painting it on? Maybe I just convinced myself to buy a little CNC milling machine--always wanted one!
