Hello to all people, I am a newbie here, my english language is not so good but anyway, I try to do my best. I want to show you my DIY music server based on vortexbox OS. I connected this appliance to my first emo XDA-1 DAC through a PCI card SPDIF Tempotec Digital March with excellent results. Thanks to my new collection of flac files, my CD collection remains stored in their boxes and cd player is gone forever. Thanks EMO!!!

Been running vb for a year or 2 now...works great...even on USB too, but I prefer spdif coax. I also use with squeezebox devices elsewhere in the house

Sweet setup. How is the control interface for the Vortexbox? I also have a large FLAC collection (on my PC), and being able to efficiently manage and get access to it all is an issue.
And congrats, your English is significantly better than half the lazy native-speakers of my Mahspace ghettobonics generation!

Well, actually I can control the MPD daemon inside vortexbox with MPoD on Ipod or with GMPC from another windows machine in my home network, the output of the DAC is atached to my own DIY Dynaco ST70 version. Very good and pleasant sound , I compare it with a Xindak MT-3 and a Dared VP20 . The DIY Dyna can do the job close to the Dared... No volume issue to report with my setup.
