This looks interesting. 7.1 2U AVR with 2ch preouts and sub.

I assume it's like the previous 1501/1601 with new bells.

hdmi 1.4, audyssey MultiEQ/DV, L/R Preouts & Sub.

Why can't they add 5.1 or 7.1 pre-outs to this thing? It would be ideal as a processor.

They can. But if they did that, nobody would buy their processors! Also they would hike up the price beyond $399...

someday someone will make one of these small 2U units. they will make it with 7.2 preouts and no amplification. they will give it XT32. and i will buy it. in a second.
