I am currently using a Proceed PDP D/A for a Proceed CDD in my 2 channel system. I'm considering getting a XDA-1 to upgrade it. I know about the 30-day trial and I'm wondering if anyone has done a head-to-head comparison between any of the Proceed d/a's (PDP, PDP2, PDP3, DAP) and the XDA-1.
I realize the age of the PDP puts it rather long in the tooth, but it still sounds amazing. At the price of the XDA-1, it being 20 years newer with additional inputs (usb, optical) and a remote, it would open up new possibilities for me. Namely, I could run my airport express into the 2-channel system instead of running it into my Rotel SSP.
For a point of reference, my power amp is a Proceed AMP-3 and my speakers are B&W 803S's.
Thank you, Tim

Hey Tim, In my opinion, get the XDA and A/B it against your current D/A. I just went through a similar situation and firmly believe that the best way to find out what will work best in your set up is to try it "in your set up". The XDA is a great sounding DAC for the money with plenty of inputs. I say go for it!

I do plan to do an A/B test against the Proceed very soon. Thank you.
