I am considering the USP-1 for music listening, but since my main interest would be records playing; at this price point, I am wondering if the phono pre-amp would be good enough, or would I be better served with an external phono pre-amp?
Info: MM cartridge. Sensitivity: 6.5 mV +/- 1.5 dB, 1KHz @ 5cm/sec.
For owners of this equipment, please, I would like to read your comments on the qualities of the phono section. Thanks.

Sorry for the post. I realized, after I posted that this question had already been answered in a previous post.

No problem, Rob. We have had this same question asked about a dozen times over the past couple of years. No reason to be afraid to ask any additional questions you have concerning the the USP-1, or any other Emotiva products. The Lounge has many members who own the USP-1 and you will find many are willing to help you with any concerns you may have.

Yup, been covered before.
my 2cents worth.... I used to use a Cambridge Audio 640P and when I bought the USP-1 I thought I'd still use it but nope I found I prefere the sound of the USP-1's internal phono stage.
I'm only using a ortofon 2M Red. 5,5 mV +/- 1.5 dB @ 5cm/sec so very close to yours in these specs.

+ 1.
Phono performance is excellent, even with my modest setup. I listen to lots of vinyl and it compares well side-by-side with CDs of the same album.

Phono pre in the USP 1 is a great unit if you have a cartridge that is higher output. I have 2 carts that were 0.5 mV output and I liked them with an external phono stage... but my 5mV output cart sounded great with the USP.
