It was great experience traveling down from MA for the day and seeing everybody at the show. My girlfriend even commented after we left about how "down to earth" everybody was for a family who owns their own audio company! Everything I listened to sounded great, and I might just take the advice on going Emotiva everything for a 2 channel stereo set up. I'm pondering the idea, but I really liked what I heard from some of the tube amps like the Unison on the first floor. Too many tough decisions in this game! I know why there is so much turn over in the classifieds now!
On a side note, the show was alot of fun, everybody was friendly, and I got to hear some equipment that I otherwise could never afford (MBL - Revels top end - etc.) * atleast if I want a bed to sleep in the following night. Only thing I would change would be more vendors, specifically stuff like Paradigm, Zu Audio, Totem, Axiom, etc. as well as having everything on one or two floors to make the show easier to navigate. We left 30 minutes before the show ended even though I wanted to go back for a listen because the girlfriend was done with it, and everything was too spread out to figure out where to go again. Just my two cents.

Reaper: the first time I found out about the show thru this forum, Paradigm was listed in the exhibitors page, which was up to 5 pages. Then as the date got closer to the start, Paradigm disappeared from the list and it shrunk down to 4 pages. Must have been allot of cancellations at the last minute.. I have Paradigms for all my speakers except the sub.. great show anyway..matt

I fell in love with the Paradigm Monitor 11's at my local audio shop when I was first auditioning for my 5.1 system. I ended up buying a Paradigm center (awesome) but sold it after I bought my new front end which has now become my system. (Acoustic Energite Aelite 3 Fronts, Aelite Centre, and Aelite 2's for surround) I really want to hear some of their higher end stuff as I have never seen it. Maybe next time. Now just to work on the girlfriend for Emofest,... Tennessee in the summer,.... hmmmm,.... Tough sell when the other option is a Carribean cruise!

We have a lot of fun things to do here in Franklin and Nashville. Also, Memphis is a few hours away! It could make for a fun vacation! I am working on a list of things to do and see in town that I will publish soon. Interesting fact: In November 1864, the Second Battle of Franklin of the Civil War took place, with the first fifteen minutes being the most bloody fifteen minutes in all of American history. I recommend visiting the Carton Planation and the Carter House. (Just 5 minutes from Emotiva!) www.carnton.org/

Something tells me most of them will have little to no interest in all the technical aspects of Saturday's agenda, but touring the local history might be highly entertaining. Hmmm, food for thought...

Funny, when I met Jess I didn't ping her as a "bloodiest 15 minutes EVER" kind of girl. By any chance does she love Arnold and Stallone movies too? Because that would make one of the most bad @$$ women ever. (Especially since she MUST be an audiophile!) Do they grow all the women in Tennessee like that? If they do I might have to go to Emofest without my number 2. Shhhhh!!!

Not sure if this is the place to post this but just a suggestion for the next show. Maybe Emotiva can have in their 2CH room setup, say some really expensive speakers from another manufacturer. Say in the $4000 and up catergeory. Even $10,000+ it dosen't matter. The higher the better so not to compete with Emotivas own speakers. Also can have their own in the 2CH room as well. Switch during the show for who ever wants to hear what Emotiva can do powering a couple of high end speakers. This way Customers can hear what Emotiva electronics can do for them with more expensive speakers. At the moment all anyone hears at the show is most probably 70%(I'm gessing) is the speaker sound. Don't get me wrong I like Emotiva speakers but it might give people an idea that Emotiva can handle quite big demands and play with the big boys. You might find you will stir up more interest with Hifi reviewers that come and listen. I noticed the most memorable and highlite at the show for alot of people seems to be listening to some of these high end speakers. And of course meeting the incredible Emotiva staff Just an idea. Even the toneAudio review had this: "While not the equal of my reference Burmester 911 mk. 3 monoblocks, the UPA-1s did a respectable job driving the $150,000 GamuT S9s—very impressive for a $700 pair of amplifiers." Imagine if they had the XPA-1's.
