XDA-1 with UMC-1 speaker pop

I'm having some issues with the UMC-1 in analog mode. I recently bought an XDA-1 and this led me to this problem. I never used the UMC-1's analog input before until now, all my components were connected to the UMC-1 digitally (HDMI). It seems as though, UMC-1 puts itself in "mute" or at least it lowers its volume all the way down to 0 when there's no sound information. I'll try to explain what I mean by this. I have a test disc that plays series of concert bass drums. It plays low drum bass hits every 15 seconds or so. In between hits, there are about 5 seconds of silence. During this interval, UMC-1 seems to puts itself into mute mode; I can tell because, low "hiss" coming from the speakers will stop. This normally wouldn't be a problem, but when the bass hits again, it causes speakers to pop. To verify this isn't XDA-1's doing, I connected XDA-1's analog output directly to the amp. That annoying pop went away. I also connected my source (Sony CD Player) directly to the UMC-1 to test it out. When I'm using a digital input via optical cable, speaker pop went away. However, when I connected my CD player to the analog input of the UMC-1, speaker pop came back. Although, it wasn't as apparent as when it was hooked up through the XDA-1, it was definitely there.

Here are my test results:

CDPlayer to XDA-1 (Digital) to UMC-1 (Analog) - Loud speaker pops
CDPlayer to XDA-1 (Digital) to amp (Analog) - No speaker pops
CDPlayer to UMC-1 (Analog) - Speaker pops, less pronounced, but definitely pops
CDPlayer to UMC-1 (Digital) - No speaker pops

Is this normal? Or is my UMC-1 malfunctioning? I already flashed my UMC-1 with a firmware as it was told my tech support, it might fix speakers popping when powering down.

Any info. would be greatly appreciate it.
