Sent this off to support but thought there may be some late evening folks looking in the forums who may help... have dongle in Canada?
Hi there, I have an issue with my LMC1. When I power it on it gets stuck in a loop.
The << LMC1 >> starts and looks like it is about to go to a source (aux1) but only gives a quick flash of that and back to the power up sequence.
I cannot access the functions menu and have turned the whole thing off (power cable unplugged for a few minutes).
is there a hard reset anywhere on the units? I was going to try firmware update to see if it reset the unit but I apparently need a special dongle for that...
HELP!
PS family reunion here on Saturday and was really hoping to show of the unit to some of the (self professed) audiofiles due to arrive.
Thanks, Anthony

As of two days ago, mine is doing the same thing. Is it just a firmware issue? And if it is, what can I do to get the update? Other than this, its been a great unit since day one. Thanks.

Well.... Talked to teck and he said it's a dead board firmware update won't help.
My ONLY option is to ship it back which is not fun (expensive and takes too long) when shipping from here in Canada.
So... the unit now cost me a few more dollars than originally planned, it just took a year to catch up to me.
I'll reply again when the repaired unit comes back for now... find box and send away....

My LMC is doing the same thing as of tonight. Bad board? No easy reset button to push? Bummer....good thing I saved the box!

About 2 months ago my LMC-1 did the same thing, kept getting stuck on the initial splash screen at startup. Lonnie treated me right though, I had my unit repaired and back to me within a week from my initial phone call! Good luck getting that kind of turnaround with any large company!!!!! Thanks Emotiva!
Not sure how much longer the trip across the border will take but hopefully you'll get yours back soon.

Just wondering if everbody here has successfully repaired their LMC-1. I am considering purchasing one of these to tide me over but am hesitant considering 3 of you are having problems. Let me know. Thanks.

temp- My unit developed a bad MPU. Was shipped to Emo on a Thus. and was back home by the following Thurs. No hassles, no questions. The only noticeable difference in the before/after is my blue LED power button is brighter than my LPA-1's...but I like it! No one likes "issues", but it is good to know that if you should have one, Emo will make it right...ASAP! In any case, I would recommend the LMC-1...but I do hope to upgrade to the UMC-1 (@ 40% off) because I need to move on to HDMI.

Thanks. As Jmilton said, no hassles. The repair process was short and simple. I have had mine back for a couple months now and everything is still in perfect working order. I would definitely recommend the LMC-1 as well.

This problem just popped up for me as well? I am curious why all of sudden this is happening to some people all in a similar timeframe...just coincidence? Is there something that causes this or the board just goes bad? I was watching the TV an hour earlier with no problems, went back to turn it on and I have the same power cycle problem.

...what's the point of having bugs if you get them fixed all of the time?? Is not this the point of a 5 year warranty? Why abuse yourself? Get it fixed, my boy... get it fixed!

Yep - Firmware was updated by Emotiva service early this summer. Yeah, Yeah, I know I should have sent it in immediately, but I've been living with it, since shipping isn't cheap. Now that fall is approaching and I'll be inside more, I'm a little more motivated to get this taken care of.
