Just wanted to add that some of us with the LMC-1 have perfectly working units. Mine has been flawless since May '07

Mine just died . Rec'd it 12/07. Called tech and they said MPU and board will be replaced. Glad the turn around sounds quick. Have any of you that had the LMC repaired had any firther problems?

I've had the same issue. It's been about 3 or 4 months since the repair and I've had no issues. Hope it works out for you. Thankfully, the turnaround time is very fast.

Guys, I sent my unit in to be fixed for this problem (thread subject) and I now have some bass popping issues when locking on to a channel. Doesn't happen very often but when it does it pretty much shakes my house. I have a UFW-12 from AV123 and I am sure the neighbors think its an earthquake everytime it does that. Does anyone know what might be causing this after sending my unit in for this most recent fix? I am most concerned about damaging my sub as it doesn't not sound very clean when it happens? Any suggestions?

I had this same issue about a month ago. Same problem as the rest of you. It was fixed and turned around in a week. No problems since. LED is much brighter which I like and some other quirks that I had just come to live with were fixed. Maybe they installed some updated firmware. It would jump out of whatever mode it was in during commericals and switching channels. Stays locked now. And maybe it is mental but it sounds louder at lower volumes than before. Anyway, yes having problems is no fun but the service is excellent. There is obviously something going on for this many units to be failing with the same problem at the same time. That's a pattern and there are always reasons for patterns.
If yours is broke, send it in and get it fixed so you can get back to doing what we all want to do and that is enjoy our units.

So far I haven't had a problem either and I got mine back in July 2007. Mine gets a workout every evening as well.

Almost 1 year to the day, the same issue is occuring again. What the heck At $50 per repair incident for shipping back to Emotiva (this will be my 3rd repair), this Emotiva LMC-1 is getting pricier I didn't like my Pioneer very much regarding performance and features, but it was issue free for 8.5 years. /disappointed and theater-less

I had considered that, but my house is kept +- 3 degrees from 68 all year round w/ fairly consistent humidity. Also the LMC is wired through a very nice UPS unit / surge protection box so the electrical should be solid too (my first repair - subwoofer daughter board - was before I got it). I think it's just my luck Stinks though, hope the parts are still available as I'm probably a month down the pre-order list. Was one of the first purchasers of the LMC-1, but wasn't online when the pre-order list hit the web and so I didn't get on for 24hrs or so I believe. Hope that the UMC isn't affecting the support group (as in bandwidth). michael

michaelts,
Mine did the same thing, almost a year apart, same problem. MPU board failed. When I called for a RMA number I mentioned how dissapointed I was that I was having to send it in again. They appologised and e-mailed me a prepaid fedex label. Cal them and ask if they could do the same for you, considering it is your third repair they really should step up to the plate.

Wow this thread is still alive.... Odd since I was back here to double check issue with the LMC-1 again.... I HAVE THE SAME THING YET AGAIN!
I'll have to call into support again but I think I may just be done.... If I have to send this in ever year or 2 for the same issue.
DAN... anything suggested before I call?
