^I felt it has better soundstage compared to player with built in dac (except oppo 95 maybe, in which I don't have). flexibility like direct conn to amp, xlr...

currently awaiting the boys having sent me a new XDA-1 front panel to solve the original Linear Volume issue....should arrive in about a weeks time
might do the new USP-1 remote upgrade too in a while...

Received my new front panel a few weeks back, took care of volume issues and was a snap to replace! ;D

I have an XDA-1 from the first batch that still has the volume issue. do i need to send it in to get replaced or can they send me out a new "front panel"

I had an original. They did the logarithmic to linear switch and now the volume is linear and can finally turn down quiet.

Did you have to send the unit back to Emo or was it a DIY fix with something they sent you? I have one of the earliest shipped XDA-1s and need to get this fix. Thanks.

Its just a matter of replacing the front panel (board) a number of screws as well as i think 3 wiring plugs.

You send the unit back to emo if you're in the us. If you're foreign then you're sol and they ship you the front plate or whatever and you have to DIY it.
