Good morning all, I am in a north Minneapolis burb. Anyone here in the area with a pair of XPA-1's, I could listen to? If so, I would like to bring my cables, rDAC, and Dali Helicon 300 MKII's.

I would go for that. Hate to have people see the fat old lady I am though. I don't have the XPA-1, just the XPA-3, the UPA-5, and the UPA-2. The XPA-1 would be even better.

I'm running the XPA-5 & XPA-3, looking for the next big thing to upgrade. Love to do a GT. There are 4-5 of us now with some nice systems, that meet now and then. I'm in the Columbia Heights area. New Hope is not that far. Where are you located Theresa?

1 of my friends has an XPA-2 and an XPA-5 in his theater, the rest use a mixture of Simaudio, etc. I am looking at McIntosh, XPA-1's, etc., to replace the XPA-5 and 3. The Simaudio Aurora is fantastic, I had one for 24 hours till the 5th channel died. Been in service for over 4-months. So I have been looking at other amps to power my hobby. I have a 12x20x8 room setup as my theater. Love to listen to music and tons of movies. In process of digitizing my movie collection.
Theresa, Are you driving a theater, music or both?

I just bought a pair of XPA-1's. I will have them all set up in Apple Valley, MN 55124 in a couple weeks. I'm connecting them to a pair of B&W 803's. I can hardly wait to hear the improvement. Because of budget restraints I haven't upgraded my amps in nearly a decade. I have been using a Parasound HCA-2003 for my front LRC.

I live in a small condo so my living room is both a listening and watching room. I'm thinking of setting up a music system in my bedroom but it won't get much use.

If you don't mind a little visit, mind if I drop by with some speakers and my DAC? Let me know when they arrive.

I know Prince, your neigbour, is using the PMC BB5 speakers, but I don't know what he uses to power them... ;D www.pmc-speakers.com/keyclients/index.php?mode=viewKeyclient&key_id=291Hehe, these are transmission line speakers. Recommended power: up to 1000W/4ohm, so the XPA-1 would be ideal.

I didn't know he had a studio in L.A., He has a fairly large studio in Minneapolis. Never been there, but I hear it's nice.

That would be fine. I expect to have them set up by the end of the month. I'll keep you posted.

The XPA-1's arrive on Friday... If you have time over the weekend, let me know. Sunday would be safer.

I wanted to thank Baroda here for his hospitality, and sharing the sound of his XPA-1's. Very nice guy and he took the time to really let me play some good music. The XPA-1’s are a significant sonic step up, Lonnie was right, they do have that magic dust in them.
On the down side, my main 45 foot run HDMI cable died last night.... movie night is on hold for a short while.
