Hello all new to the EMO family just waiting for my new amp to arrive!
Just purchased the UPA-2 to power the DQ10 speakers in my office, I know the DQ10 are power hungry so this will be a test to see if I need to jump to the XPA-2. My listening levels are not to extreme so I feel this amp should adequately power the speakers. I will be connecting the UPA-2 to a Crown IC 150 pre-amp for the time being and will possibly audtion the USP-1 at a later time to compare the old school analog with the new.
If anyone has any info on this particular amp and inefficient or power hungry speakers please feel free to chime in, all advice or experiences are welcome.
Thanks

It depends on how large your listening area is and upon the acoustical properties of your listening room. If you have an average sized residential home chances are good that the UPA-2 will be able to adequately power your DQ10 speakers. If not, all Emotiva gear comes with a 30-day Trial Period. If it turns out that it is not able to perform as expect, you can return the amp to Emotiva, no questions asked.
Welcome to the Emotiva Lounge.

I have the UPA-2. Wonderful little amp. Sounds just as good as Emo's other amps.
It's overkill for my 103db speakers though lol ;D

You're right, Matt. It's way overkill for your speakers. You should sell it to me lol.

So I got the UPA-2 and let it burn in for about 10 hours.. WOW
My listening room is small and this amp makes my teeth hurt. The packing was probally the best Ive ever seen since DELL in the 90"s. And once again the detail in sound has me up now trying to make this amp reveal a vail that it just doesnt have. Kudos Emotiva (made in china doesnt mean sh@# when designed as well as this unit). Emo pre-amp is now on the short list.

I just purchased the Emotiva amp, pre and DAC. It replaced a system ten times the cost. You read that right! The Emotiva gear sounds better, functions better and has a much better form factor. The amp drives my Pioneer Elite speakers beautifully. I get the best sound I have ever had.
