My new Pio VSX32 AVR does a great job with cinema, and it also has a digital input for iPod, which allows the AVR's DACs to do the heavy lifting. It sounds much, much better than running the iPod into the pre-amp via its analogue out. It makes party mixes much nicer. It is a very good fit with the USP1 and UPA1 core of my system. List was $800. Paid $459 through Amazon.
My life is now complete...until I save enough for new speakers.
