Hello all (pardon any bad lingo/references)
After years and years of holding off for a Audio system that I will very much enjoy, and the neighbors not so much, I have begun the process. Thanks to all of your reviews, and special thanks to Chuckie for your help, I have been able to place faith in an affordable system that unfortunately I cannot hear first. Unless perhaps any full Emotiva system owners live in Austin Texas and would like to show off, I can help feed the audio ego.
This is my first separate and "real" audio system, and couldn't be more excited. I'm Planning on this build.
3x ERM-6.3 (yes, I reserved them)
ERD-1s
XPA-5
XLR-1 (when it comes out, I hope to have my system completed by March)
SW-- I will watch reviews on the X-REF Series/other brands. as well as sales.
5.2 for now. 7.2 will come later.
Anyone have knowledge of running 2.1 with 6.3s? I do listen to a lot of music, but would like to stay away from towers, just based on the fact that I cannot toy around with the tweeter height. I believe the SWs I get will more than take care of the mid/low bass. Plus $400 dollars saved pretty much gets me a SW.
I feel lucky to be able to piece everything together and not be biased towards an expensive company. I like the natural flat sound in speakers, and from reviews that seems to be what you get, and more. Unfortunately as I stated above I will not be able to demo the clearance sale speakers. The amps speak for themselves. I believe some of you would label these purchasing actions as fanboy. Well, if my system sounds near what I understand it will for the price, then I proudly accept. ;D Lets do this Emotiva.
My beautiful 50' Samsung plasma, extensive bluray collection, Flac files, and massive multimedia PC are hungry for HD audio perfection. And they will be fed. Yes, they will be fed!
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, as I will be setting up separates for the first time. Unfortunately I don't have room dimensions. My lady and I will be moving at the beginning of next year and will make a decision on the room when we get our new home. Until then I will be watching sales and piecing together the system.
