Which Palladiums do you have? It seems that there are several models...
I do have to wonder though why the need for XAP-1s since the Palladiums are so efficient?
Nice system, BTW...

You must also know that there are numerous Palladium speakers. Without knowing which model in the Palladium line, it is impossible to know how much was spent.

PS - Ooops, my bad! The OP did specify the models in his sig, I was not paying close attention to that: Klipsch Palladium P-27C, (2)P37f, (2)P38f
The 38Fs are 6k ea., the 37Fs are 4k ea., and the center is 3500. So, he has 23,500 in speakers. Nice!

The point was if your buying the P-Series your last concern is likely the cost....

My original point is that because of the efficiency of the Palladiums (Palladia?) a monster amp like the XPA-1 is way overkill. Unless, of course, you intend to damage your hearing as quickly as possible. With those speakers, I would be more inclined to get a very refined tube amp, perhaps a Rogue or Prima Luna. That system would really sing then...

PS - My Butler TDB-5150 (I bought use off Audiogon for $1600) would also be an excellent choice for those speakers. And it has more than enough balls (150 watts/ch.) to bring the cops from nearby counties running to see what all the commotion was <g>...

Killer system but with all that money spent on those speakers, really should have looked into something other than the DD18. velo makes good subs and all but theres no way that 18 can keep up with your system. I have 6 x 18's and 2 x 21" and they can't keep up with my JTR stuff. You need to at the VERY least, double up on the subs You got a really killer system, you need the killer bass to match!!!
