I can say nothing but kudu's to emotiva for building a superb system. I'm using Polk SRS 1.2 TL speakers with all new silk tweeters that will take all the amps have to offer and I can honestly say the combo is stunning. Not just stunning, Its an experience a person cant describe in human terms. It can shake you to the core and make your heart skip beats or just make you stare into space with drool coming out of your mouth. It sparkles, whispers, quietly and perfectly. Then comes the thunder....It's big and deep and hits you in the chest with a 2x4 all the way to 10hz. You fall down then get picked back up with sprinkles of light air and goodness and get slammed again and again with what seems to be a never ending flow of electrons coming from the power company that just had to switch to emergency nuclear backup. The amps hurt you then pat you on the back and say its going to be OK then they punch you again. At low volumes they are light and airy and crystalline with a menacing growl down deep that reminds you to be careful with the throttle. The coyotes have relocated from my county. It's best they did that and it is for their own good. They will stand with the best of them and I have owned many different amplifiers in the past to compare them with. They are solid and the FedEx guy didn't like them one bit but he was in need of a lesson in stereophonic delivery. He did not want to stay to help hook up the mess as he said he had errands to attend to. I imagine he was just trying to get out of his chores. As I said, these amps are brutes with the finesse of a ballerina. I love the service I got and how quickly I got answers from tech support. I love the boxes they came in, the look of them, the feel of the knobs, the lights and glow, the color and lazer etching, the snap of the startup, the quietness and wicked stare they give me in the dark. The matching gear Is pretty and old school and modern at the same time. I will have to be in some debilitated state to have them removed from my system. If they break, I will buy new ones. if they are stolen or the house burns down, I will buy new ones. If you say you don't like them, I will not serve you any BBQ and will take your drink away.

And just curious why you have the left speaker toed in? And can you take a full shot of the speakers? Thanks

Great write up. Wow 1.2s and XPA-1s I am in lust. Must sound incredible. Just curious why you have the left speaker toed in? And can you take a full shot of the speakers? Thanks The reason I had them toed in was I did not have the isolation transformer hooked to the speakers interconnects. The sda speakers have a special cord that links the speakers together. You can NOT run non- common ground amplifiers as the xpa-1's are unsless you have the isolation in place. I have installed the isolation transformer in the system now and that activates the 4 outside drivers on each speaker canceling out sounds from the other speaker. Odd way to do things but when you hear it it is amazing. I only toed them in to have a semblance of good sound till the transformer arrived. It is a avil lindberg and I will be installing it permanently into a custom project box made to resemble the emotiva amps in miniature. I may even duplicate a serial number but would not have the ability to lazer etch a nameplate onto it, just some screen printing. Here is the temporary setup before the tv is placed on wall and I get a new stand.. I was desperate and ran to wally world to pick it up emergency style and now I'd like to pick up some VTI or similar. I'll post a pic with all the new tweeters installed as the old ones had some blown and the new are silk domes from polk are a drop in replacement and improvement by far. Attachments:

Oh I know all about your speakers, I own the 2.3tls, their little brothers. I would love to see your project box that you make as I will be getting XPA-1s hopefully soon. And I just installed all new tweeters in mine two weeks ago as I had three that were blown, they are definitely an improvement. But if you want to be blown away, dynamat and armaflex those bad boys. Holy sound stage and clarity Batman ;D

I do have plans on replacing the crossovers with upgraded caps in the near future and doing some other tweaks like sealing the drivers better and some reinforcements. I also want to replace the tops and bottoms and the wood sides with a more exotic looking wood like bubinga with some cool music note inlays in ivory. as far as the dynamat and armaflex < can you describe what was done in that regard?

Hey i love your setup. In your future plans keep me in mind. I laser cut veneer. And I'm cheap for small projects. If i can do it with my large scrap piles it's cheap. My real email address. Donotsendmemail@insightbb.com "spam protected" I can etch metal but have no practice at it yet. Have CNC mill and Water jet access if you got the $$.

Yes I am going to use a solid wood not veneer on tops and bottoms and sides. I have this picture in my mind of gun stock beauty and have been looking into some types of matched tiger striped walnut, bubinga, or even rosewood if i can find it. I also have an ivory collection and can cut pieces of it into shapes of musical notes and inlay it into the front edge of the speakers. At least it sounds good in my mind and would make them very individualized. or maybe "polk audio" in ivory letters on the front center top piece... stupid idea? And thanks lazerman.. I'll try and find a project for you on this journey.
