Just saying Hi to all my fellow Emotiva owners. I have always been a music freak and my first Emotiva purchase was an RPA-1. It did duty as the power behind my rear HT speakers, sitting side by side with an older Rotel. It always seemed to be a bit clearer and more powerful than the Rotel so it got swapped over to my front spkrs. It served me well until someone decided to "liberate" almost all of my gear one day while I was at work. I put my old Denon AVR back into service as an amp (I was just using it for a pre-amp) but there is no way it will drive my Vienna Acoustics speakers for very long. Those things will suck that unit dry and ask for more. I don't think either the amp section or the DAC section will survive. Heat Kills!!!! ;D Having had some experience with the Emotiva line and really liking what it brought to my music, I am back in the market. I think this time it's gonna be the XPA-5. It has the power I need, the independent reviews are very complimentary and I really like how it looks. And I believe the Denon, as a pre-amp and processor, needs to be retired so I will be perusing the Emotiva product page for a pre/pro as well. I was glad to find this site and it's nice to be here! As an Administrator on a couple of automotive forums, I know what it takes to run and maintain a site. I just want to say Thanks to the Staff here for a great site.

Hey, it's good to see a fellow Oregonian here! I bought the XPA-5 almost exactly one year ago, and it's been an awesome amp. Welcome to the Lounge!

Almost. I'm on the far west side of Forest Grove in the suburbs, just before it turns into the countryside by Shafer Vineyard. We just moved from Hillsboro a few months ago.
