Today I picked up a second Velodyne HGS15. [ ] 1 year of patience has paid off. I'm hoping to be able to spend some time this weekend doing some A/B comparison with 1 vs 2 subs. I'm curious how much difference it will make in my setup. Last weekend I cut and painted a bottom shelf for the bottom right cabinet. You can see the left sub is laying on the floor while the right sub is level with the front of the cabinet. My intent was to make a media storage area in the bottom right area of the false wall. With the 2nd sub installed there, I no longer have anywhere for DVD's, CD's, Blurays and PS3 games. [ ] I really do not "need" a second sub. The single HGS15 paired with the RF-83's provides more than adequate bass for my room but let's face it, this hobby isn't about "needs" now is it. [ ] I have the left Velodyne hooked up to the Emotiva UMC-1 via XLR and the right one currently hooked up via RCA. I was thinking the UMC-1 had two XLR sub outs but I was wrong. I will need to purchase an XLR Y splitter. Here's are a few pics of the Dual Velodyne HGS15's installed. Closeup Shot Rear View

You will wonder why you didn't do it earlier.

Yeah, I used to think how ridiculous it was to spend over $100 for a remote. I mean how dumb is that. Now I can't see why I waited so long to get one.

Nice subs. I think velo has always done a nice job with their servo's. My first real sub was an F1200 that I bought in 92' but it just could not handle the larger HT that I subsequently moved it to. The amp gave up the ghost during a demo. Believe it or not I was able to sell it unworking and pay for a good portion of the mfw that replaced it. Velo subs quality and resale are hard to beat. Cannot say the same for the mfw.
Must be hard to hide those as they are great looking subs.
Enjoy them!

Thanks JD. I started out with Velo CT-100, then F1500 and now the HGS15. The subs are fantastic, especially the higher end models (HGS, DD series etc). Yeah, I like the look of the false wall but part of me really wants to show the speakers and equipment.
