Hi all,
First post and soon to be a first time owner of 3 x UPA1s to power my front three channels. Just have to wait for the FedEx man to fly them out to Australia!
Question I have is how warm do the amps get when running? I know it says on the product page that the size is suitable for stacking, but they will be in a somewhat closed in cupboard with "prison bar" doors, so good airflow through the doors.
Thanks in advance for any info.
Cheers Tim

Thanks. If I can stack them, gives me some flexibility in setting up the cabinet.
Cheers Tim

stack them to start with. Heat will depend on speakers and volume levels. I have bookshelves and 6.3 for center and my UPAs barely get warm.

I have two XPA-1's in a cabinet that is open at the front and back, with 4 inches of space above them and they still get pretty warm, now a lot of people on these forums say their amps barely even get warm, which makes me wonder if they run hotter running at 230v/240v, even my UMC-1 gets quite warm watching a movie via the analog multichannel inputs.

^Now that you've mentioned it, the UMC-1 is the hottest component in my system after watching movies or playing music.

I stack mine and have no issues...and below them is a upa-2, but it's an open rack, and often not in Aircon so the room is often 25-30c

Hopefully will know next week.... Going into summer too, with sometimes very high ambient temps indoors, will be a good test. I did have my AVR shut down once due to heat, but I was cranking it and it was a very hot day.

I have 3 stacked with no issue, and another 2 sets of 2 stacked, 2 of which are in a cabinet.

To me, heat is the enemy of electronics. So an amp that relies on internal heat sinks an no fan means don't put anything on top of it. My XPA-2 is on a table and the USP-1 is standing vertical to the left of it.
