i have the USp-1 and XPA-5.
I have an AV receiver and polk audio LSi 15 speakers, centre and surrounds.

Can those who have XPA-5 with USP-1 post pictures of the back of their machines so i can see how things are connected, much appreciated.

This should help: It's of an XPA-3, but the concept remains the same.

Make sure you read some of the thread though, as some slight changes were done from what the picture shows.
