I'm new to Emotiva - great forum by the way!
I am seeing many here with MMG's. That is encouraging in and of itself. I have had my MMG's for 6yrs or so now. As I am sure many will agree, the XPA-2 is a very nice match with the MMG's. Several reasons - Maggies have "beaucoup" in the high frequency ranges and not so great response and "punch" in the upper bass.
With that said, I encourage my fellow MMG lovers to get their wire cutters and soldering iron out and hack around (gently) with the crossovers. Also get rid of the fuse and "attenuators". Easy to access, just remove the back panel. My suggested tweak - replace the inductor with a North Creek 10AWG .75mH air core, cap with a high grade 10 or 12uF. The cap is where things get interesting. I have tried many. My choice now would be the Mundorf silver/oil (expensive). AmpOhm paper/oils are very good. You can bypass them with a small value big bux cap if you want to save money. With the XPA-2 I'm now curious as to how a v-cap teflon bypass would sound. The XPA-2 could use a bit more definition.
Any experiences with cap rolling with the MMG's?
