You want ones that have a decent connector that closes with a crisp snap for a solid lock. Emotiva XLRs are excellent and also have an excellent WAF!

The King Cobras are excellent and you can save a lot buying them used off of Audiogon.

do the amp side ever lock in ? They sure do. the amp side does not lock in just as I thought , I even called today its a friction fit I was told just like my monster m1000 so there is no reason to upgrade

Personally I'd go for the Emotiva ones.. reasons already covered above.

I have some Blue Jean, I wasn't that impress by them, don't know which I got but as I recall they weren't cheap, nor recall if they locked on the amp side..
