ADAM A7 Active Monitors. The tweeter is based on the HEIL AMT....ADAM has used them for years. www.adam-audio.com/Killer speaker! Fly Those Adams are great, and highly regarded in the recording industry for being excellent sounding, and very accurate monitors. I have drooled over them several times... Much better than my budget Alesis Monitor 1s, but I can't complain...they were given to me by a friend when he upgraded. Congrats on the new subs man! You are sure to be the envy of bass loving audiophiles all over. ;D Very nice!

Thanks PaintedKlown...
I've gotten really partial to the ADAMs over the past few years. An electrostatic-like clarity, with a dynamic speaker "punch" that gets addictive.
There's good reason that the ADAMs have found favor with recording/production facilities. They allow the engineer to hear what he's doing, and produce work that "translates" well downstream. As it works out, the ADAMs are a fine home Hi-Fi speaker as well. Quite often, it's a bit like having a seat in the studio while the tracks were being cut. The performer is RIGHT THERE, and as any audiophile could attest, you hear the details that make the experience SO real. Very cool, and this is what we spend our money for.
The SVS enters the equation with the ability to compliment the detail, and articulation of your favorite monitor speaker, with a matching degree of detail and articulation as the notes get lower.
The ADAM / SVS marriage is indeed, one made in Heaven!
I wouldn't characterize my room as being anything special. It's your basic cookie-cutter living room, found in ranch style house all over the place. It's a space shared with a wife, and an 8yr old...as well as the occasional "In-Law" invasion. It's always nice when things work out well, without having to resort to unmanageable placements of equipment, etc.
A battery of measurements I took with REW, has my single SVS SB-13+ running strong into the subsonic range (13hz) , with a remarkably even response...even at 1/12 octave resolution. With a bit of PEQ cut at 40hz to bring down a small peak...perhaps related to the width dimension of my room, the total result is fantastic. It simply"worked that way"out of the box!
The SB-13+ integrates well with my speakers, and fits into the room without being cumbersome. Exactly what SVS said it'd do. Clearly, the folks at SVS engineered their product to work well at in OUR houses...not just a factory sound room.
The second SVS is just some extra frosting on the cake. We all like lots of frosting, and as a bonus...there'll be a more symmetrical visual with the two subs, and uniform bass response over a larger listening area. Plenty of debate regarding the "One Sub vs Two" issue. Many times, two subs CAN take things to the next level...in a good way. More things to tweak, but it'll be fun and I'm looking forward to a fine result.
It's OK! Convict me if you will, of being a "Fan Boy" ;D
None of us hesitate to condemn a product or supplier for a less-than-excellent experience. It's equally fitting to sing the praises of those products, and suppliers that deliver the goods!
When the post-purchase satisfaction more than mitigates the trauma of seeing the crater in your checking account..I'm a happy customer!
New toys waiting for me at home. I'm back in the 'States in a week...I can't wait!
