Yeah. the anthem, denon or marantz 7005. Dont think you go wrong with any of them There are rumors from the Hifi Berlin show that this year the Marantz AV 7007(with Audyssey XT32?) will be out late summer/fall, and the AV 8007 with Audyssey XT32+Pro will be out this year or the beginning off next year. I'll try the XMC-1 and hope it's good enough and the sound I like. If it's not good enough Marantz it will be. I did have the Denon AVR 3311 and have now the Marantz SR6006 and I like the sound off Marantz better. The Anthem DV2 is really something else, the best I ever heard for surround but in another league, also price wise. A nice summer/fall with a lot off hifi decisions and listening sessions to make the good decision...there are worse tasks..

RW: I'm with you all the way. I think that TacT should separate the sheep from the goats and bring costlier pre/pros to their electronic knees and leave the "price competition" gasping for breath. But I don't want to compare the XMC-1 with the likes of Anthem and Denon pre/pros just yet. That I want to leave for the RMC-1.

Does TacT do calibration on the sub response? I am one of the first to be able to get the xmc if I want. I was going to get the antimode. But if the Tact does it then Ill save that money

If is does what we think it will, it will handle all frequency ranges, in real time. It will also have user tweak-ability allowing you to hear the results as you are making the changes. Who could ask for more than that?

With the Audyssey XT I use(which calibrates the sub also), the Antimode 8033C does a much better job on the sub responce compared to Audyssey XT.

I quit waiting for the XMC-1 (bought the Denon 4311ci -- which does 11.2) for my living room. Then I also got a UMC-1 for downstairs... and if/when they release the XMC-1, I'll still buy it, but for my HT rebuild. Sometimes the answer is "All of the above"

sorbe: I'm very interested if there is a difference(or not) in sound and what difference between Emotiva and Denon you hear. I'm thinking about the Denon 4311, XMC-1, Marantz AV7005/8801.

I am on the Pre-Order list for XMC-1..I will still get XMC-1 and would like to compare. Do have 30day's.
