Everything works fine except the amp powering on and off with the trigger. May be a stupid question but have you gone thru the input setup for the Pioneer to specify what inputs will send a trigger signal?

Just a little info about using the 12v triggers on Pioneer Elites. My friend has a SC-07 and a couple of old Rotel Amps and was using the 12v triggers on the Pioneer and something happened because of that anyway he could not use extenal amps anymore only the Pioneer amps would work.. Had to spend hrs getting the SC-07 out and send in for repairs.. I have also read some stories on other forums about a Pioneer Elite issue with there 12v triggers..Blowing something..

I purchased a used xpa-3, it has started turning itself off. I noticed the power cord has 3 female fittings but the amp only has 2 male fittings is this normal.

i just turned everything off except the amp, I'll let you know in 10 Minuit's if it shuts down.

well it hasn't shut down so some other component is causing it. I have it hooked up to a pioneer VSX-1126 and a pair of PSB T6 towers + a sub, I think i will take the amp upstairs and plug it in to my Yamaha HTR-6063 and see if the same think happens.

This is a really dumb question....but here goes.....I am getting an XPA-5 for Christmas and will use it with a Pioneer Elite VSX-01 receiver. I will be using the trigger input/output to turn it on.
I know that you have to select the inputs to turn on the trigger.......but what inputs do you select?
Is it correct to say that I would have to select each input that I would normally use an amp with and set the trigger to "on" in the receiver....?.....i.e.......blu-ray.....cd.......directv.......dvd......etc.?
Seems stupid, but appreciate it if someone could map it out before I try this on Christmas.....thanks ahead of time!

Im not familiar with that exact Receiver but yep based on my experience with others that procedure sounds about right!
Sounds cool too if you have many amps and you set delays... :-)
enjoy your christmas!

I recently switched AVRs from a Denon 3312 to a 4311. The 3312 triggered my XPA-5 fine with either a stereo or mono cable, but I cannot get the 4311 to trigger the XPA-5 at all with either cord. I have set all trigger options to ON. The 4311 was purchased last month as a refurb and is under warranty but requires me to drive over an hour each way to the nearest authorized repair center. Aside from the trigger issue, the unit seems to be perfect. Is there anything else I can try?

If the you used the same cables on the 3312, and it worked on the XPA-5, then that eliminates bad cables, and the XPA-5. If you used the same cables, and the XPA-5 with the newly introduced 4311, and there is no trigger function, then it has to be either a trigger issue with the 4311, or assignment issue possibly with the 4311. Please consult the Denon 4311 owners manual especially page 105 for Trigger 1 and Trigger 2 output parameters. usa.denon.com/us/downloads/pages/instructionmanual.aspx for downloading the manual if your is not handy. Straight from Denon direct. I would do this first if you haven't already. If you did what the instructions say, then further support from Denon direct, or service maybe in order. Hope this helps.
