just curious why you decided to get the 2nd SVS SB13+. I've got just one in my setup and it sounds great. I could be talked into acquiring a 2nd one if it's worth it. Were you trying to cure a localization problem with the 2nd sub or just enhance the sound? Thanks. Hi G-Man. One (1) SB-13+ sounded great in my room. The decision to add the second SB-13 wasn't for "want", but rather because I have long felt that TWO subs works better in terms of providing a more uniform bass response over a larger listening area, larger soundstage size, etc, et al. I was so impressed with the first SB-13, that the decision to buy the second one was EZ to make! There is a wonderfully "even" bass response seemingly anywhere in the house. The measured results are by far, the best I've achieved in 30yrs of playing with subwoofers. In the listening, and keeping in mind that very little recorded music would ever challenge the SVSs, their effortless, and seemingly bottomless extension of just has to make you smile! When the music doesn't demand it...they seemingly vanish. I give the the SB-13's very, very high marks in all respects. The customer service experience with SVS has been extraordinary, with all my little "tech" , "what if", and "Check this FR graph" inquiries being promptly responded to by the DESIGNER of the SB-13. It's been like having friends in the Subwoofer business! You simply cannot go wrong with a team of this caliber backing you up. If you're debating the purchase of a second SB-13? Debate no more! It's a worthwhile addition to your system! You'll be thrilled. -Fly

Thanks, Fly. I've been debating whether to add a 2nd SB13+ or replace mine with a PB13 ultra. Having owned ported subs before, I really enjoy the sealed sub. I appreciate your advice. Cheers.

Fly: Just went to the SVS website with the intent of ordering a 2nd SB13 plus. Was shocked to see they are no longer being offered for sale. Didn't even see one in the clearance section.

called svs about the SVS SB13. they are coming out with a new version. The SB 13 will have the same spec but it will look more like other subs like pb12 or pb13 but just sealed box. no more side panels on the SB13.

Manny: What do you mean by side panels? Bought my SB13 plus about a year ago and it doesn't have side panels. Just a big 100 pound cube with a front firing driver, 1,000 watt amp, and no ports.

AFAIK...the SB-13s+ were going in for some cosmetic changes over the winter.
My familiarity with the SB-13+is of the "Black Oak" variety, (pre-makeover edition) and there are indeed "side panels". A stained oak "facia" panel on the sides, with a black, textured material on the top surface. Matches well with my other stuff. I was lucky to get the ones I got! ;D
G-man, it'd probably be good to get your name on the order list now so as to avoid waiting at the end of a long line.
Seems they sell as fast as SVS can make 'em. Don't wait.
All the best,
Fly

I see the PB12-Plus

I have no clue was IS or ISNT at SVS. Best thing to do AIUC is to give the nice folks at SVS a call, and let them help you get sorted out, and pointed in the right direction. They'll get you sounding good in a flash.

Ed Mullen and Jack Gilvey at SVS are both great guys. I'm sure they'll be happy to help guide your decision. SVS customer service and tech support is every bit as good as Emotiva.

I'm 100% in agreement with you G-Man. Most of my correspondence has been with Mr. Mullen, and this guy really knows his stuff! Better still, he can help You know your stuff! Makes difficult concepts seem simple after he explains them. What's that worth to you? In the subwoofer game....it's priceless IMO. Great team at SVS.
