Wow, that's a Smokin' Deal (tm) on the Sherwood 972!! I even found an open box unit with full warranty for $499 - SMOKIN' DEAL!! The more I read about Trinnov, the better it sounds - pun intended. The ability to re-position speakers electronically could be of great help to our testicularly-challenged ex-Man Club members...<g>

I've traded with accessories4less a couple of times. They are easy to work with.

I purchased a Sherwood Newcastle R-972 from A4L. Smooth, EZ transaction. Haven't got into the box yet though! It's too bad this unit has been discontinued now that is practically problem free. Sherwood is still doing updates for it like HDMI 1.4, etc., even though the reviews (which are older) don't show that for example. The main reason I bought it was 1) The reviews. Some of them were incredible on describing what Trinnov can do. It has some "tricks" beyond any other room correction systems it seems. 2) On Trinnov, you communicate directly with Curt from Trinnov....not someone from Sherwood. He knows the R-972 inside out and seems happy to share his knowledge, time, and expertise on this unit. He has started several threads to help/communicate with R-972 owners....and that my friends is worth it's weight in gold! I'm going to use mine as just a processor, and use external amps. When I get my Oppo I will run 1 HDMI out to the R-972 for just sound, and the other HDMI out directly to the TV. Although the sound is reportedly awesome the video processing of this machine is a little weak. But you can work around that. I think I read somewhere that A4L just lowered them to 499.00. This is a no brainer. I think many will be sorry that they didn't get this unit when they had a chance.

Hey gang! A little while back, someone posted a link to get free magazine subscriptions. I signed up for Sound & Vision and Maxim. Well, it just so happens that today I received my first issue of S&V. It's the Sept. 2012 Vol. 77 No. 5 issue that says "Speaker Special" across the cover. Now I will wait to see if Maxim comes as well. Not too bad for free.

Received mine a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, didn't want to dampen your enthusiasm but wanted you to be aware. The price is great however!
