Hi everyone,
I have a feeling I'm going to like this place a lot, based on the threads I've read so far. I'm brand new to this forum (post #1).
I have been a music and sound fan since I was a kid. It all started in my dads place of business, where he would have the local radio station playing on the store speakers. At a very young age, perhaps against my own will, I knew all the lyrics to every Neil Diamond or Tom Jones or Carpenters song. At home, the experience was more intimate as my pops also was a fan of audio and had some very respectable components and speakers, and my folks loved music. So did my brother and I, when the folks were away.
Fast forward a few decades later, and my passion/understanding/application for music & theater sound & gear has only grown (even though my budget hasn't kept up step for step with my gear aspirations). My alarm clock has a subwoofer, so I can feel the LF sound of waves crashing or fog horns blowing vibrate my bed. My daughters room has surround sound and the rear channels occasionally and abruptly scare unsuspecting visiting kids when watching movies. Anyways you get the point, I'm no expert, just an enthusiast.
You should all know up front that I do not yet personally own any Emotiva products in my lineup.
However, after a few decades of being a music and sound enthusiast, and having sampled/demoed/bought/home trialed/returned/exchanged/sold/flipped components and gear over the years (just like all of you), my journey has arrived me at a new and exciting place of where I am confident of 2 things:
My next, more serious music only 2 or 2.1 channel home stereo system will consist of Magnepan Speakers and Emotiva amps.
