Will Emo have these ready to go upon release of the xmc-1? Being the only 3ru piece they have (assuming it beats the xsp to market) it would be a nice option for those of us with racked emo gear.

And don't forget the black trim that I would probably add to the XSP and XPA (if I don't simply remove the standard trim).

I emailed them to ask that exact question before my forum registration was approved. I was told that yes, they will be made available, but they were unsure if they would be available at launch. Hope this helps.

Hate to bring up an old thread, but I just placed my order for my XMC-1 and forgot to ask if Emo has rack ears ready for the XMC-1. Anyone know before I give them a call and try to place an order for some?

I'll give a call and if it will be a while for the XMC ears, I'll order the XSP ears and drill the holes myself. Can't wait to get the XMC in my system. P.S. Best of luck Andrew with your new direction. I've always enjoyed your input across all the sites/forums you post too.

I believe Andrew meant the URE-3 ears for the UPA-700. Those are the ones I used.

Thanks Geebo. I knew there were a pair of 3U ears, just wasn't sure what all they would be used for. I plan on calling later today to order and I'll report back what I find out.

Spoke to Emotiva staff today. Friendly and helpful as always. The specific rack ears for the XMC-1 are not available yet and they do not have a date yet when they will be available.
As geebo has stated, the URE-3 rack ears will match the height of the XMC-1 and you simply need to drill two holes (I am assuming one per side) to secure the XMC-1 to the rails. So that I can get the XMC-1 int eh rack ASAP, I ordered the URE-3 rails.

So that I can get the XMC-1 int eh rack ASAP, I ordered the URE-3 rails. There are two holes for each ear. The front holes line up fine. The holes at the rear are the ones you need to drill. The hardest part is getting the location right and that just requires a little bit of care. The bottom edge of the ears wrap under the XMC by about a quarter inch or so and that is what bears most of the weight. The screws pretty much just hold the ears up tight against the chassis. I just made sure that the shelf on the bottom of the ears was up against the bottom to the chassis. If you have to elongate the holes that you drill to get that proper positioning you'll be fine. When done, they work perfectly and fit like a glove.

Ears for XMC-1, it might be an accessories for Dirac? Is it more accurate than a mic? Do we have to clean with Q-tips before using?
