Hi Loungers Last Thursday I bought a new dac to replace my 14 year old Theta. After doing 2 months of research on which one to buy, I settled on the Rega.
I can't believe the difference I'm hearing and the new dac is not even broken in yet.
The bass tightened up considerably, mids became clearer and more defined, and the highs became more airy and pristine. Soundstage got wider and deeper and the imaging became more precise.
I spent a lot of time researching different dac's, reading review after review and kept coming back to the Rega.
To say I'm happy with it would be an understatement. It is well worth what I paid for it ;D

Hey thats great. I was never a Theta fan myself (meaning a lot of money for my budget and I thought over priced) and its nice that you found a better DAC. Enjoy!!
Can you break in a DAC?
Best!

Only one with a tube output IMO, but some claim they do hear an improvement over time. The SS output on mine has remained the same since day one however. All the best on your new purcase BTW!

I have been hearing some good things about the Rega DAC. I would love to listen to one.
