Considering how much more an Emotiva amplifier cost, when bought in Denmark, I am beginning to consider alternatives. The XPA-1 is about 1.650,-USD when bought in Denmark So, as I mentioned, I began to look around and came across a company called Advance. It's a French company, with a business form, much like Emotiva. With the products build in China. In fact the differences are so small, that I suspect it is the same product, made on the same factory, with a few minor details being different. Emotiva XPA-1 Advance MAA-1000 Then I found out, just how much the Advance would cost in Denmark, as there are actual retailers here. But the price is, even more silly on these products. The MAA-1000 cost 3.550,- USD.. So this makes Emotiva an even better bargin, even if I have to pay a premium compared to US.

Not uncommon to find items that look the same as Emotiva products. Jade Design does a lot of design work for other companies.

China's not to worried about copy-writes. I often look for cloned devices when shopping. There is a Cloned I-Phone and I-Pad in China, I doubt they are paying apple anything for the sales of the clones.
A friend of mine teaches English In China, And has both the cloned I-Pad and I-Phone, China has there own app-store that mimics about anything we see on I-tunes.

Access to those real apps is what makes the iphone and ipad what they are even if you have a perfect hardware clone. ( which I duobt considering the ones I saw) I would just get a cheep android instead.

It's also not specified rated for 4 ohm loads. Their THD+N is not present, and their SNR is not competitive with the XPA-1 unless the XPA-1 was a-weighted. In fact it's max power consumption is rated at 600 watts. The XPA-1 puts out 1000 watts into 4 ohm loads and obviously consumes more power than that. I'm liking the front panels though. Also the XPA-1's THD+N (0.1%) is rated conservatively. On the 4 ohm spec sheet, the THDN is 0.004%. Which is impressive. The XPA-1 looks to be on another level according to its measurements.

I'm really digging the front panel on that thing. Sweet!

^ The front panel is just one massive VU meter with an on/off button!
Although I love VU meters, I'm not keen on logarithmic VU meters. The needle will always be in the 75%-100% range. Linear would be more useful.

You live in Denmark, you should walk over to Hypex and get some Ncore modules, and you have your amps for life.

Hmm... After some serious google research, I came across the company that makes most, if not all, emotivas stuff. I've found some of the amps and the CD player. There's probably a lot more coming out of that place, than what I found.
Anyways, It's called "Tonewinner" and yes, they also make the Advance stuff.
