Reg - if your wife likes small, quaint towns with a lot of beauty and history, Franklin fits the bill! Perhaps you can sell her on a weekend of a bit of Emofest for you and time together for you two in a beautiful little town...maybe find a nice little B&B in the area...

So, here's an Emofest 2012 question: who is going there to buy, who is going to "browse and maybe buy", and who is going to just going to have a good time? And, if your are buying/browsing...what are you looking for?
For me...I could say I am going to browse. But, assuming it's present and for sale as indicated...an XSP-1 will (almost for sure!) be on the way home with me! And, maybe an XDA-2 or Pro-DAC...curious to learn the differences and decide what to go for - assuming each are ready and for sale.
Then, there's those darn XPR's...or a pair of XPA-1's...
Anyone else?

Well, if there are some "wicked good" deals, I might have to reward myself for taking such a long and arduous journey.... :-) The deals at previous EmoFests have always been better than the periodic regular sales, how much better is not known until arrival. Not to mention the added incentive of Emo Bucks that are in the welcome bags. |

You can always buy your wife some nice X Series cables for her birthday... or a CMX-6 ...or an XDA-2. ;D ;D What more could she want? Tell her if she is really a good girl you will even spring for the XSP-1.

right now, the only thing i plan on buying at EmoFest is a pair of XRM-6.1 X-Ref Monitors (bookshelf) speakers for my office. unless Emo releases a newer version of bookshelf sized speakers between now and then that's my purchase.
i'm very happy with my XPA-5 & UPA-2 so i won't be buying a new amp for the sake of saying i did. i already have more amp than i can handle.
also to do it right if i bought their new 5 channel flagship, i'd have to buy the new 2 channel since the gain on those are 29db and the gain on the amps i have are 32. mind you the UPA-2 has an adjustable gain knob but i can't be sure where 29db is since there are no markings and i'd want things to be just right. that's a couple thousand i don't need to spend.
the stuff all looks nice mind you. i plan on having another incredible experience up in Franklin again this labor day! this time, since the "newness and wow" factors are done, i can really pay attention to some things that i didn't last year. I will also bring some hi-rez FLAC on disc & thumb drive to sample while there listening to things.
