Hopefully the XSP-1 is ready for that long awaited interview now...

Exciting!
That DAC-1 looks very neat too!
I'm curious how the two DACs compare.

is Emo only using their pro-line speakers for the show? I was secretly hoping for a peep on the X-Ref-15 subs. Can someone get a comment from Emo on these promised subs?

It was a pleasure visiting the Emotiva rooms today and I'm glad I finally got to meet many of the team. Lonnie was the first one I met and he was extraordinarily gracious (as were all of them). We had a nice chat about the postings on the Lounge and he actually remembered me, haha. ;D I also got to meet and talk with Vince, Cathy, Big Dan, Ray and Nick (actually Nick #1 in the pro room; there were two Nicks, but unfortunately I didn't get to meet Nick #2 in the main room as he was busy answering questions for the many visitors - and thus no picture either). Everyone was super friendly! Plus I got a nice Emo t-shirt as well although they only had one "Tennesse-size" XL which is a mite big for me. As for equipment: They didn't have a whole lot, as you can see from the pictures below but it's quality over quantity. Another poster complained that they really didn't get to listen to anything because there was so much talking, and that was the case with me as well (plus I was guilty of the same) so I really can't comment on the sound in the main room. The 6.2's, from what I heard, sounded good - non-fatiguing and smooth, but the volume was not that high and there were too many distractions. The big drool-over component for me was the XSP-1. I had been on the fence about this one and at the present time am mainly thinking about the XMC-1, plus I really don't want to pry open my wallet for both of these things. However, as of right now I'M BUYING BOTH as I gotta have them!!! I'll figure out where to put them later as I don't have room on my rack for both. I regret selling my ERC-1 earlier although practically speaking I have no use for it since I hardly play CD's anymore; everything is streamed. I sure would like to have it back or an ERC-2 even though it makes no real sense. You can also see the XDA-2 in one of the pictures below. Behind the scenes was the CMX-6, which you can see below, too. Release dates for the XMC-1 and XSP-1: "summer." That's about as precise as anyone would make it. The main room was very popular, people coming in and out and asking questions (I heard a few people ask where the equipment was made). The Pro room, at least when I went, wasn't as crowded. The Stealth 8 was on demo, connected to the DAC-1. Music was being streamed from a laptop. According to Nick, the price for the 8's will be $1,499 a pair and the DAC-1 $699. Emo is the deciding reason I went to the show. While I love audio gear, shows like this can be a zoo and it isn't that easy to evaluate anything given the circumstances. If they were not there I probably wouldn't have gone, but I did want to meet the staff that made the trip out here (especially since I still can't talk Mrs. Monku into going to Emofest). It was well worth it - as I said, they were all so friendly, gracious and welcoming. And it was good for them since now I want an XSP-1 whereas before I didn't, and I also put in the good word for them to someone who was looking at their gear. ;D I will post comments about the other gear I saw/heard in another thread. Mrs. Monku made the trip but since she's not an audio fool like me, I dropped her off at the South Coast Plaza so she could be a shopping fool. It was a nice trip - the highlights were the visit to the Emo room, and having lunch at In-N-Out Burger.

Any XDA-2 pricing? Or the difference between that and the DAC-1?

Thanks for the report and pics Rickie. Were you able to compare the Stealth 6 to the Airmotiv 6?

Thanks for the report and pics Rickie. Were you able to compare the Stealth 6 to the Airmotiv 6? You're welcome! No, only the Stealth 8's were set up. The Airmotiv 6, 5 and 4, and the Stealth 6 were on stands but not connected. I guess I could have asked Nick to substitute them but I didn't want to trouble him.

Nope. ;D It was on the bottom of the rack and I didn't really take a good look at it but it looked similar to the XDA-1. I didn't ask for any info on it so I have no idea about availability or price. I was just thinking about the XSP-1 (I've got to get me one of these!!!) and how I regret selling my ERC-1 even though I hardly used it.

Thanks for the photos and news, Rickie! It's also nice to see you "in person". I hope you make Emofest. I have to inform my wife that we're going, but I intend to be there.
I am pretty excited about the XSP-1, XDA-2, and XMC-1. I can't wait to see all 3 on the product page.

Nice pics and thanks for the info Rickie. Glad you had a good time. BTW, I like your shirt! ;D ;D ;D Thanks! ;D Cathy even took a picture of it! ;D For those who don't know, "monku" is a Japanese word that basically means to whine or complain - so when someone is being like a little kid whining about stuff, the parent will comment, "monku monku." I guess the shirt reminds me of what I would hear a lot growing up. ;D
