Hi Emotiva fans Without starting WW3 I have a request . I would love some actual picz of a Emotiva ERC2 . I have seen it on the website and I don't really love the look of it a lil too much blue for sure and maybe too much chrome . Now that I have that off my chest , I could be wrong it may be the computer generated gif's or whatever you call em just look like hell ! and the unit lookz better face to face . I have seen mountain bikes look dreadful on the manufactures site and then in the bike shoppe look much better . I do like Emotiva for sure and I think it is awesome value . I am not sure about the blue or chromed? power button . So if you have a ERC2 or even ERC1 as I believe they look almost identical and if you are good with a camera please take a few picz with the display off or dimmed down as low as possible and put them on here . Also I saw a pic on another forum an ERC2 with black trim sides?? Thankz to all from a future Emotiva owner?

Google Emotiva ERC-2 then click on images. Lots of them sitting in people's audio racks.

You can buy black trim plates for the sides. I actually prefer all my Emo gear without any plates or screws. The completely flat face is very stealthy.

You know I don't 100% agree with the Stereophile observation (quote : To the left are four silver function buttons (Play/Pause, Next, Stop, Previous), arranged in a diamond; at center, from top to bottom, are the large display, a thin slot for loading discs, and a large Standby button adorned with Emotiva's distinctive E logo; to the right of these, all by itself, is the Eject button. This arrangement makes ergonomic sense, but it creates a louder, busier look than would a simple straight row of buttons.) not sure if the way the buttons are arranged is what makes it look louder* This I agree with quote: (Each button on the ERC-2's faceplate is lit by a halo of bright, clear blue that perfectly matches the bright, clear blue of the player's vacuum-fluorescent display. Like a Christmas tree) I really dig Emotiva Great grear at a great price . I must be only person on planet that thinks blue leds look cheezy. If someone can post a pic with side pieces in black or removed that would be kool . Where do I look for show pics?

Here is a ERC-1 with black trim (looks the same as the ERC-2): And a link to a thread with pictures of black and no trim: emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=media&action=display&thread=7813I have black trim and chrome screws on my equipment. Also for a different look, you could have member Kazoo make some wood trim. DoingOK has some pics around here of his setup with wood trim. It looks nice.

I prefer it in black I think The power switch is it chromed plastic? I wonder if the blue LEDs can be changed out easily? Thankz for link to Yep, I believe the switch is chromed plastic. If you don't like the chrome, you can probably hit it with a permanent marker or something similar to black it out. As for the LEDs, I guess it depends on how handy you are with a solder gun. Just a heads up that it may void the warranty. You can dim or turn off the LEDs via the control. Taken from the remote control section of the ERC-2 manual: 2. DIM This is used to dim the display light. It also turns off the halo light and the lights for all the front panel buttons except the On/Standby button. BTW, I somewhat agree with you that the ERC doesn't look all that great in photos. When I had mine, I thought it looked great in person (with black trim) and the sound was oh so sweet. * The black trim on mine was the original silver pieces painted black. My XPA-5 (at the bottom of the pic) has the factory black trim pieces and it matches the face plate color very closely.
