Those of you worried about asking your wife for permission need to get a new wife, IMO. She's not your mother, she's your partner... Obviously you have not lived in Georgia David. Oh and its a joke, I did live in Savannah for a long time and that is the joke down there, especially at the holidays.

You guys are funny. I really don't need to ask for permission, but its more of me second guessing myself to know if I really want it or need it. This goes for everything else I purchase. Every time I ask, I get the same answer, "just make sure its what you want, make sure it has warranty and check the return policy in-case something goes wrong". Since I want the 70" elite model TV, the amp would just set me back a little. I currently have the Denon 3808ci so I already know I will need to have more power to drive these puppies. I just don't know if I should wait since the new models are coming out or just purchase now since its CHEAP! Plus i just got some even more good news... I start a new job tomorrow that is half the distance of my previous job and I will be driving away opposite of traffic. I am so WIN! I guess i should just hit the buy now button muahahaha. Hurry Emotiva send me my shipment confirmation... lol Actually now that i am thinking about it. I just need to drive the front 3 with more power so the xpa 3 is enough, since the back 4 are in the ceiling and the Denon should handle those just fine.... Ahhh just get the XPA-5 and use the extra 2 channels to power the second zone you haven't told the wife about yet...hahah

So instead of an xpa I have been approved for a new tv and now I'm thinking a sharp quattron either 65 or 70. Good price and pretty good picture from what my reviews... But Ill keep researching.. Unless the elite 70 really comes down in price... On another note.. The ring is going to be big..lol

My mrs bought me my xpa-1s and and xpa-5 which she is the main user of....when I suggested I might sell the xpa-1's I got an oh no you don't need to do that...so maybe I will be keeping them...unless I can't tell the difference between them and my DIY amps or upa-1's
I did have a deal on some 8.3 to replace my erm-1's for l/r but the mrs said the existing was good and she would let me put any coffins (floor standers) in the lounge...so that didn't fly...the 6.3 for the centre was even a hard bargain.
But in my room I have a whole bunch of speakers...and a few others scattered about the house...sound everywhere in our place...and that bodes well so I'm a happy enough camper.

Kalel Just taking a quick look at your photos it appears that you have the ERT-8.3 Towers placed too close to the rear wall and possibly too near your equipment stand. You can probably improve your sound quality by optimizing the speaker's placement within your room. At the very least, I would play with the included controls for boundary compensation switch on the back on the cabinet. Those speakers can be really fantastic when properly set-up.

Then I will run Audyssey

Decided on 70 quattron 847 at 2800 and change from SAMs. The new XPR is beautiful and I might be able to sneak it in the budget or maybe wait for an XPR 3.
So update on the speakers. One of them had an inditation and scuff mark made by your favorite carrying company and at this moment its heading back to tenn. But i was left in wow status for the few hours that I used them. I didn't have to turn on my sub on as the dual 8" had enough oomph for at moderate levels. Now playing music, I played some podcasts at 320kbps from my favorite dj duo myon and shane54 and i noticed it lacked on the very low end but it wasn't enough for me to be turned off. Those are my initial impressions, hopefully when I get the right channel back and add a few hours of break in period the run audessey I can do another assessment. But I know they will only sound better.

Solution. Budget play money each month for each of you. She spends hers each month and I save for the item that I want. Then you don't have to ask permission or apologize.
