Looks like a nice unit, curious to hear your thoughts after having the umc-1 for a while as well.

If it doesn't "wow" everyone (I hope it does), I just might do that. I've been a big NAD fan forever, but the stuff ain't cheep. NAD isn't Anthem (NA) expensive, buts its not far behind.. This MRX 500 wasn't cheap either I'm sure..

I really enjoyed my Anthem receiver. ARC worked great and was easy to use. It's not a D2v, but gets you maybe 85-90% there for a lot less money. I'll have a D2v someday.

Is it for sale yet? If not, what's the delay? Seriously, are you using it as a pre-pro with your Emo amp or letting the MRX-500 do both the processing and amplification?

I wont know until I get it might be enough for me , I hooked my Mini-X to my SB to test the Mini out and I hardly had to touch the volume on the 50W Mini-X to get the volume I liked and it sounded great .So the Anthem might be enough 5 speakers

So much so, I asked the salesman twice where he had the separate amp hidden.

I just spoke to Anthem and they told me the MRX-500 is rated 75W per channel with all channels driven , being I have a smaller room I might be okay , if not I will use my XPA-5 . I want to try the Anthem by itself and see what it puts out compared to using the XPA-5

Very interested in hearing your impressions of driving your speakers with the AVR vs. the AMP. Is the UMC-1 gone or will you also be able to compare the two?

I'm 100% sure that EmoQ wont come close to ARC room correction. The only thing I want to test is the difference in SPL between the 500 and 500/XPA-5 combo

I am always up for an amp comparison but would be as interested or more in your impressions of sound quality of the Anthem as a pre-pro compared to the UMC-1.
