Well the XPA-5 is a keeper to pair wit the MRX-500 The wattage from the MRX-500 is not going to cut it for me . The headphone section in the MRX is weak for my HD-650's , as for the sound from what I heard so far Im happy . I wont get a chance to run ARC for at least a few days.

Just curious, where did you order this from and for how much? I just read through a horror story on AVS about a guy that bought one of these from a non-authorized dealer and the shipment that his came from had been completely stolen and never reached Anthems warehouse for distribution. Hopefully you bought from an authorized dealer, as buying "gray market" electronics is risky. Interesting reading in the AVS thread though. www.avsforum.com/t/1417605/my-anthem-receiver-is-garbage

Interesting reading in the AVS thread though. www.avsforum.com/t/1417605/my-anthem-receiver-is-garbageNice story , but the guy bought it off Kijiji and not from an authorized dealer he did this to save a few bucks.Anthem and Paradigm will only warranty if purchased from a authorized dealer , so he did this to himself and cant blame anyone but himself . I guess it would of been worth the extra to purchase it legit . As for my purchase all my stuff was brand new speakers and AVR they came from a guy that has excellent feedback and we agreed if there was a problem he would send it in for me since he was the org purchaser , that's the only reason I purchased it . Now if he doesn't keep his word you wont see me bashing Anthem & Paradigm on the forums , because it would be my fault. As for Anthem / Paradigm customer service I think they are real decent to talk to .

My noisy fridge caused mine too error out one time so I always turn it off now. We need to do videos of the same song sometime.

What do you think of the sound from the Anthem? How does it compare to the UMC-1? to be honest I really don't know , the anthem doesn't have direct which I like , I need to do some reading yet and try a few things . I know I have no delays and switching is quick . For movies the Anthem for sure , as for music I'm not sure yet
