My USP-1 had a bad day last week. Ever so slightly removed the cables from the phono inputs and the left one does not work I've seen the inside of my USP-1 many times, since i have customized the plate and was curious about the circuitry used. The RCA jacks are SO cheap. If they (EMO) chassis mounted (secured with a nut) i would never have had this problem. The XSP-1 will have much better jacks, why not my USP-1 I doesn't bother me much that it's out of commission because i am using my BHL Phono Pre Amp (just a circuit board and batteries but still works great). Just bugs me that it would break from a butterfly landing on the jack. Later this week i'll rip it open and re solder the jack on. Still though """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" UPDATE!!!!! Well the power went off at my place right in the middle of my soldering, so my iron went cold lol. What to do..... Go outside and clean the lawn furniture and pick weeds is the answer I heard the AC turn back on a few hours later. Finished what i was doing and came back inside to finish what i had started. They (Tiffany Style RCA Jacks) perform better than the original plastic jacks by far. A small child or a chipotle burrito with all the fix en's could hang on these new bad ass jacks. Very good fit for my cables. Not too tight but provide enough grip. OLD: NEW:

That is a bummer, but im sure it will just give you a reason to compeltely rework the circuit board and install your own phono stage into the usp-1 Let us begin calling it the Kraemer Designs Deluxe UPS-2.1, that doesn't sound good, maybe soemthing else

Same goes for the RCAs on the XPA power amps. I've got a loose RCA jack on my XPA-3 that, luckily, still works. Can't wait for my XSP and XMC (both will utilize XLR outs) and I'll be rid of those cheap suckers for good...!!!

A cost-saving measure that never should have been allowed to reach final production. Very disappointing...

But hahaha i won't even be using it. Just for if i sell it (which will be very cheap). A line stage (possibly balanced) is in my future Ben you should come over this week. Thursday i'm bringing my TT to Needle Doctor (St. Louis Park) to get a MM cart put on and have it on display for the guys and customers there. I'll be free this weekend

What exactly a Kraemer design? A circuit modification, a peanut butter and jelly flavoring?

What exactly a Kraemer design? A circuit modification, a peanut butter and jelly flavoring? A Kraemer Design is one of the most kick butt customs that you have ever seen.We are talking audio stuff here. One of a kind on each so far as I have seen.Quality stuff.

Well, Agent 006 asked that question and didn't make it back home from his mission! ;D Now that's funny schit right there ;D I could upgrade the capacitors and put a better volume control in for starts. Put it all in a custom enclosure with chassis mount RCA jacks.

Not a fan of the "Let me turn this up a smidgen...OH MY EAR DRUMS" volume control? It is very annoying. When I first got it, I was disapointed. If the XSP-1 is like this. HUGE FAIL!

I like to look at it as a dual purpose remote. Volume control + reflex enhancer all in one.

HAHAHA ;D I have this whole week off, so later today i will rip the cover off the USP-1 and fix the damn thing. If it can't be fixed properly, soldering leads to board and hanging a RCA jack (tiffany sytle) out the back for now will work. If i remake the USP-1, it will have tiffany style jacks on all inputs and outputs. Plus i'll get rid of a few things like the 12v trigger board and jacks. Also all the control buttons on the front will be scrapped. Just keeping the power button and remote sensor. My Phono~1 (MM) needs to get it's long awaited attention first though

Well, the XMC will Tiffany style jacks, so maybe the XSP will get the same treatment.
