The replacement Maggie 1.7's have arrived at my dealer! So, I packed up the defective ones and will go exchange them for the new ones tomorrow...crossing fingers that they are perfect!!!

The 1.7's are in my house, all feet installed, and playing. But, for now...it's my daughter's tween TV shows. I will go to the barn and work on my nCores, which also arrived today! When it rains, it pours.

What matters is that the replacement speakers are "perfect." Sounds like there are no noticeable imperfections, so enjoy Round Two listening sessions. Don't forget your raincoat.

Ah...thank God! They are here - no issues, just sounding sweet! I'm giving them an easy workout to break them in...some Steely Dan, James Taylor, and Gregg Allman. They sound so nice...and it's great to have 4 working feet!!! Mark

Mark, that is "Eeeeexcellent" (in my best Mr. Burns voice). ;D Well gang, I have an update on my MMGs. Today, I made the call and got me an RMA number. Then sent them back to Magnepan via Fed-Ex earlier this afternoon. To be quite honest, I am not 100% sure how I feel about this decision as of yet, but I just had a slew of things pop up suddenly...car tags, license renewal, and I had a tire blow out on me yesterday, thus I HAVE to now buy a couple of two new tires. I needed them anyway, and since I need to get one, I may as well do the two front ones while I am at it. The funds are going to be needed to take care of all this stuff. While I loved the sound of the MMGs, I did miss deep bass, which my B&Ws do provide. Also, the Magnestand upgrade isn't cheap, so I am not sure when I would actually be able to get it done. I am thinking (when the time is right) to try to hunt down a nice pair of used 3.6s and get them modded instead. Right now, it just wasn't "in the cards" for me. mostly due to space/financial reasons. Audio is a hobby, and I can't afford to put luxury items ahead of necessities. Oh well...life goes on, and I can always get them, or bigger Maggies, later on.

Sorry the MMG's didn't work out. That happens sometimes - as do those darned other non-audio expenses interfering with our audio addictions!
I am really enjoying my 1.7's. They are really charmers. I had to disconnect them tonight to put my old B&W's back in place to try my new nCores...didn't want to take a chance that me buggering up something in my DIY project would fry a maggie! I'll hook them back up tomorrow after I get the 2nd nCore built and tested. But, I miss the Maggies already in just 1 CD's listening!
