You wouldn't (or, at least, shouldn't). A turntable plays analog music whereas the XDA-1 only does digital music. For it to work with the XDA-1 you would have to digitize the analog wave then send it to the XDA-1 to covert it back to analog.

I got a little ADC, I think that there is a thread about it in the stereo section. I have to go back and fill in my thoughts.
Overall I'm happy, it will get me to either the xmc or Pro DAC, I didn't want to get the USP at this time... Though I probably should have just gotten it instead of a the two phono preamps I currently have. (need to remember to sell).
The long and short, I got one from eBay for $18. There was another option at $90.

There are a bunch of ADC phono preamps out there. For a good sounding one try the NAD PP 3i. for $200.

OP didn't specify SPDIF output. You can't have everything. Vinyl ripped to a 24-bit, 48kHz signal will sound damn good.
