Sorry there are no/few pix posted. It's been a busy day. I do have pix of the XSP-1 front/back, the UPA-200 & 500, the raw circuits of the media player and other things, and so on and so on...but, after tech day, I prioritized writing the post w/the notes on all the items over posting pix. I will try to post photo's tomorrow or Monday AM before I drive home.

Ha I called it! Media Player, I just had the strongest hunch all along. I WILL own that device. Done deal, sign me up. Erc-2 for backup duty.

Go to the Emofest 2012 thread and look for the really long post by me (page 36, post 708)...it has all I was able to record on pricing/timing/etc.

Please excuse my ignorance here guys, but I am still not sold on the idea of why to buy a media server. Is it to eliminate the need to have a computer as a server?  If that is the case, the idea of a media server would be best implemented if it was able to also rip the media to its internal drive (and/or external drives attached to it). Even if it were a proprietary codec for DVDs and BDs (to eliminate piracy), I would still be in. Without the ripping capability, I don't see how owning one would be any more beneficial than an Oppo (and to a lesser extent, the PS3) with an external drive hooked up. |

OK...so, here are the pix of the "media player"...as kraemer noted, it's boards mounted on a plastic base. Still a ways away, but this is what it looks like so far... Two versions were in the lab (one w/black base, one w/white...) Mark...and yes, more pix of other things to follow! seems like its a protyping system thats maybe something they are playing with www.streamunlimited.com/v3/en/index.html |
