Total Recall – 3 out of 5 stars
If you saw the original starring Arnie, you’ll never be satisfied with this one. Rather than a sequel, this is a remake for young adults who aren’t old enough to have ever seen the original. Although some tongue in cheek homage is paid to the original (the mutant working woman, and a few other scenes), the plot offers no surprises. Fine special effects, but if you saw the original, don’t bother.

Haven't seen it yet, and as much as I loved the 1990 film, I only need one reason to watch this one... eventually: ;D

Wasn't the original film a take off from a short story? So, the original film wasn't the original story, anyhow.
I'm kind of interested in the new film. It's like the Hitchcock version of "The 39 Steps," it was loosely based on the book, but the new version was fairly faithful to the book; much different stories, one great (thanks to the actors and the director) and the other pretty good.

I think this remake has 'built in' audience for the BD market. Honestly, I want to see it just to compare to the original. Plus, I guessing that it has some really great eye/ear candy for the HT. ...and I have a really cool movie poster of it, thanks to our beloved moderator LCSeminole.
