paintedklown-As for the thoughts on these vs the MMG's, it will be very tough as I have all different components (especially the most important one "the room") and listening postion than when I had MMG's. When I had MMG's I had an XDA-1 before the mod to change the gain, XPA-2 and Oppo BDP-83 and a Klipsch Sub12 for bass and I sat with my ear level roughly at the top third of the MMG height. Now I have an XDA-1 after the gain update, Yaqin MS20L Tube integrated amp and Oppo BDP-93. Plus, at this point, I am VERY limited in where and how I can set up the 2.7's based on my very small room and their much larger size. Okay, all that said, one of the main reasons I considered the 2.7's is THE BASS. They definitely have great bass response as they spec down to 34hz vs 50hz of the MMG's. It has been 2 years since I had my MMG's and noting again all the changes above (like everything), the MMG's as I recall had a little more focus on voices and were a little more forward on more delicate instruments. That may also be due to fact that I now have speakers that are nearly 6 feet tall, but my listening position is still set very short for my 36 inch tall former Zu Audio Omens. So all and all a very unfair comparison given all the changes, but it's what I am noticing so far. As you also know from my other thread, I am trying to set up enough treatment in an unfinished basement to make it listenable which should help to open up these 2.7's a great deal.
