The XPA-2 just flat out kills it on my new (used) Magnepan 2.7's! I loved them with my Yaqin MS 20L but they really sing with this much needed power. Looks like the Yaqin is going on the Emporium officially soon. I hope the panorama picture comes through. Attachments:

Awesome! Congrats on the new XPA-2. As you have seen around the forum, Maggies and Emos are a hugely popular combination. The stability into low impedance loads and the ability to deliver plenty of current when needed, makes the Emo amps (especially if they have an "X" in their name) a great way to feed those power hungry Maggies. Please keep us filled in on your thoughts, and post a review if you get the time.

I recently bought a pair of 2.7s, a vpi scout and an xpa-2 but I cannot set them up quite yet. The wait is killing me. Thinking you might help a brother out and describe in some detail the sound coming out of that setup. I am excited to know what I have to look forward to.

I use the XPA-2 together with the 1.7, and that already sounds great. With the 2.7s it will sound even better! Have fun!

mofly-Great detail awesome tight bass. Plan to spend some time with a tape measure and seating position to get things set up right. I recommend the "Get Better Sound" book or DVD to help you get the best sound from what is one of your most important components of your system....The Room! I am still running things through the paces, but so far the XPA-2 is a great mix just like it was with my MMG's.

Unfortunately, I live in manhattan an my current apartment is too small for the setup. I am looking to move in the next few months to a bigger place. I hope to set up he system as well as possible living in an apartment without a dedicated room. My goal is too just get te system put together then up and running. So I am living vicariously. Have you thought about getting the 2.7 gunned?

Have you thought about getting the 2.7 gunned? What are your room dimensions? Yes on the Peter Gunn treatment. I already e-mailed him to ask about cost and approach since he had not done too many 2.7's and since there was a 3 way crossover to deal with. I am likely a year or more out for that consideration.

Welcome to the 2.7 and XPA-2 Club. I love the sound of my 2.7s with my XPA-2. Sad part if that you could give them another 500 watts and they would still want more.
