I use Grooveshark right now but I'm finding that a lot of the music had really bad quality even for background music.
What good streaming service can we get in Canada?

Try MOG if you can, 320 kbps, highest bitrate available on the web - IIRC - cheap too, $5 per/mo here g

I used Pandora 4 years back when I was living in Calgary, Alberta and then the CRTC put a kibosh on that due to copyright infringements or whatever their excuse was, I loved it too, wasn't the best quality but was an easy way to find new artists to listen to.

Check out Slacker (US based / San Diego, CA) or AUPEO! (Germany). Both are loaded on my Sonos device. They are as good as Pandora IMO. I usually listen to Slacker more than the other two. Maybe those will work for you. Both are free. (I believe the free ones are 128k, higher bit rates for paid service)

Thanks for the suggestions.
Unfortunately, no MOG or Pandora yet in the great white north. But I'll look into the others.
Cheers.

if you want to use pandora or any of the other US services, just use a proxy or VPN server. You can get a free proxy or VPN of you can pay to use a stable high speed one. I'm currently using www.unblock-us.com, it like a vpn but you don't loose any speed on you net at all. I'm currently running pandora, hulu, US netflix and it's $4.99 a month. Can't beat that for a completly stable and legal way to get everything! Also for Netflix, you don't even need to get a US account, Netflix accounts are good through north america. It's amazing how much better US netflix is that our crappy Canadian one.
